201 Hotel

Hotel is very well located if you are coming by car-you’ll need just 10mins to the center of Reykjavik. Very calm environment, very clean hotel with very nice and friendly staff.

I recently stayed at Hotel 201 in Reykjavik and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located, offering easy access to the city's attractions, and the facilities were good. One feature I particularly appreciated was the charging point for electric vehicles, which made our travels around Reykjavik more convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was a hot water outage during our visit (which was not the hotel's fault), so after 10 pm, only cold water was available in the rooms. However, the hotel handled this situation well by informing us via email before our arrival and offering access to a nearby gym with hot water showers. While this was an unexpected inconvenience, the hotel's proactive communication and alternative solution were much appreciated. The breakfast was standard with limited options, but it was still good enough to start the day. While there could have been more variety, the quality was satisfactory. Overall, despite the hot water issue, I would recommend Hotel 201 for its convenient location, friendly service, and decent facilities.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful when we checked in. The room itself was spacious and clean. Nice selection of continental breakfast included in the morning. We chose this hotel due to its close and easy proximity for a morning flight home.

Walkable distance to shops, stores etc. (Bus stop close by to get to city center/Reykjavik). Excellent accomodations Clean, cozy & comfortable Common areas are large & inviting for guests to mingle The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, well-versed in multiple languages Rooms are perfect for solo travelers like me who just need essentials. Breakfast included! I LOVED their bedding, shampoo & conditioner so much I ordered it when I got home!

The rooms were clean. We actually stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our 2 week trip to Iceland. Our impressions at the beginning of the trip were that the rooms and bathrooms were small. After staying in 8 different accommodations, we realized that the rooms at 201 were actually a little bigger than the Icelandic standard and the shower was twice as big as most places. The breakfast had a good variety for travelers worldwide. This hotel isn't in the middle of the tourist area, but we liked being a little distance away (we had a rental car, so it worked for us). It is close to a shopping mall, restaurants, and a gas station.
